About Us

ELKK Ridge Ranch is a family home that we built back in 2004 and 2005. The name ELKK is a wordplay on the large animals seen occasionally on the property and the initials of the members of our immediate family. We drove up on the ridge and looked at the views and said THIS IS IT! We bought the 35 acres right away and started building a few years later.

The Log Home

It is a hand peeled log home made out of beetle kill pine with logs that are 10" to 12" in diameter and over 32' long on two sides. We are approximately 2600 square feet over 3 floors and over 9000 feet above sea level. We have 3 bedrooms plus a study with a trundle bed, 3 full bathrooms, 3 family room areas, a gourmet kitchen with a double convection oven, 6 burner gas cooktop, dishwasher, wine cooler, and a large 30 cubic foot refrigerator with all of the small appliance amenities to cook like a chef. We have a gas fireplace in the family room that has a thermostatic remote that will not only generate beauty, but heat! Additionally, we have a large, covered porch with an outdoor gas fireplace, and a Weber grill. On our 35 acres you will find trails, hiking, sledding hills in the winter and a firepit area as well. We are ready to host your family get together! And yes, that is an actual sunset from our deck!

While You Are Here

Here are some things that family, friends and guests shared that they have enjoyed doing while at "The Cabin"

Paddleboarding, boating, rafting and fly fishing on area streams and reservoirs like Spinney Mountain, Eleven Mile and the Arkansas River.
Hiking on our 35 acres looking for petrified wood and arrowheads or climbing to the gnarly pine.
Exploring nearby mountain towns like Breckenridge, Fairplay, Buena Vista, Leadville, Salida or maybe even a little gambling at Cripple Creek!
In the summertime, you can visit Aspen in a little over 2 hours.
There are even places nearby where you can go horseback riding if that is something you enjoy.
Or you can simply hang out, read a book or look for wildlife that occasionally roam our property.
On a clear night, you can go outside and gaze at the billions of stars in the Milky Way, you might even see a falling star!
